Abstract

[Objective]Mango(Mangifera indica L.)is known as the king of tropical fruits be-cause of its unique flavor and rich nutritional value.The quality of its fruit and economic benefits are influenced by cultivation management techniques.This study aimed to explore the effects of differ-ent cultivation techniques on mango yield and economic benefits,identify the best cultivation prac-tices,and provide a reference for water and fertilizer management in mango production.[Meth-od]This study used Jinhuang mango as the test material and set three treatments:the conventional cultivation model as CK,combination of fixed fertilization pit+drip irrigation,and fixed fertiliza-tion pit.Through continuous experiments and observation during 2021-2022,data such as single fruit weight,content of total nitrogen,total phosphorus,total potassium,total calcium,total mag-nesium,and total boron were measured,fruit set number per tree and marketable fruit rate were sys-tematically recorded for samples from each treatment at fruit ripening stage to comprehensively eval-uate the application effects of the different cultivation techniques.[Result]The experimental data showed that the combination of fixed fertilization pit+drip irrigation"technical model demonstrated significant advantages on yield and economic benefits.Compared to the fixed fertilization pit mod-el,the technical combination model significantly reduced the labor costs by 22.22%,decreased the comprehensive production costs by 2.13%,increased the yield by 4.07%,and raised the economic benefits by 12.86%.Compared to the conventional technique model,the technical combination mod-el significantly reduced the labor costs by 53.33%,decreased the comprehensive production costs by 13.04%,increased the yield by 13.93%,and raised the economic benefits by 20.55%.Leaf nutri-ent analysis results further indicated that the fixed fertilization pit+drip irrigation treatment signifi-cantly improved the nutritional status of mango leaves,increasing the contents of total phosphorus,total potassium,total calcium,total magnesium,and total boron by 3.6%,4.7%,13.4%,0%,and 26.98%,respectively,only decreasing the total nitrogen content by 7.1%as compared with the fixed fertilization pit treatment.Compared with CK,the contents of total nitrogen,total potassium,total calcium,and total magnesium increased by 16.9%,7.9%,0.5%,and 7.7%respectively,while the contents of total phosphorus and total boron decreased by 12.5%and 5.0%.[Conclu-sion]Both fixed fertilization pit+drip irrigation combination and standalone fixed fertilization pit treatments showed better yield and economic benefits than conventional cultivation model in mango production,and fixed fertilization pit+drip irrigation technique performed the best,capable of achieving a coordinated improvement in mango yield and economic benefits.
