Abstract

Landslide disasters pose a major threat to the safety of transmission corridors,making their monitoring and early warning essential for ensuring the stable operation of power lines.Traditional approaches often rely on separate sets of indicators for the tower and the slope,neglecting the interaction between them and leading to high rates of false alarms and missed detections.To address this limitation,an integrated monitoring and early-warning standard for transmission tower landslide disasters has been developed by combining monitoring indicators of both the tower and the slope with established evaluation criteria for tower tilt and slope stability levels.Taking a landslide-affected tower on a crtitical 500 kV transmission line as a case study,this research employed a IoT-based monitoring to track indicators such as tower tilt,rainfall intensity,cumulative rainfall,and surface displacement.Using numerical simulation methods,the tower and slope were modeled as an integrated system to establish a comprehensive early-warning standard.The results show that two heavy rainfall events induced tilt deformation at Tower 313,triggering an Orange-level warning.This warning information was promptly communicated to the relevant emergency center,providing a direct basis for disaster prevention and response along the transmission corridor.The successful application of this real-time monitoring system and methodology hassignificantly improved warning accuracy,making the alerts more aligned with actual conditions.This approach offers a new effective tool for predicting and forecasting landslide disasters affecting transmission towers.
