Numerical Simulation of Stability and Movement Characteristics after Failure of the Longlouling Landslide in Sanya

Abstract
Rainfall is one of key external forces leading to landslide instability,and its impact on slope stability becomes even more pronounced under the coupling effect of seismic activity and rainfall.Therefore,evaluating landslide stability under different rainfall conditions holds significant theoretical and practical importance for predicting and preventing landslide disasters.Taking the Longlou Ridge Cemetery landslide in Hainan as a case study,this research employs numerical simulation software for analysis.By combining field geological surveys with numerical simulations,it investigates the seepage field and stability of the landslide under various rainfall conditions,as well as the deformation of the landslide in its natural state and numerical simulation of the accumulation process post-failure.The results indicate that rainfall amount and intensity are critical factors influencing landslide stability.As rainfall increases in both amount and intensity,the infiltration range of rainwater expands,and the saturated zone within the slope gradually enlarges,leading to a rise in groundwater levels and potentially pushing the landslide into a marginally stable state.The stability coefficient of the landslide shows a negative correlation with both rainfall duration and intensity,with a more pronounced decline in stability during heavy rainfall events.During the post-failure movement of the landslide,the velocity of the sliding mass exhibits an initial acceleration followed by deceleration.The failure mode of the landslide is characterized as a typical"retrogressive failure,"where failure initiates at the slope toe and propagates backward,with the most significant displacement growth observed in the shallow soil layer of the sliding mass.The findings of this study provide valuable references for understanding landslide stability and disaster prevention under rainfall conditions.关键词
