Breeding Report on the New Foxtail Millet Variety Longgu 24
摘要
Abstract
As an efficient crop in arid and semi-arid regions,foxtail millet has strong stress-resistance characteristics.Breeding new foxtail millet varieties with high yield,superior quality,and robust resistance,combined with efficient cultivation techniques,can fully leverage variety advantages,which is of great significance for improving millet yield and quality while increasing farmers'income.Longgu 24 is a new foxtail millet variety with high-yield,high-quality and strong stress-resistance,which was systematically selected from the hybrid offspring of Yugu 1×Longgu 7.It participated in the multi-point experiments of medium-late-maturing foxtail millet varieties in Gansu Province from 2019 to 2020.In two years,the average equivalent yield of Longgu 24 was 3 366.68 kg/ha,an increase of 10.26%compared with the control variety Yugu 18.It participated in the production experiment of foxtail millet in Gansu Province in 2021.Among the 6 pilot sites,4 showed yield increases.The average equivalent yield was 6 046.65 kg/ha,an increase of 6.43%compared with the control variety Yugu 18.The grain contains 804.5 g/kg of crude starch,123.0 g/kg of crude protein,29.0 g/kg of crude fat,2.0 g/kg of lysine,and amylopectin accounts for 76.93%of the total starch,offering excellent grain quality and taste.It is resistant to head smut and rust,moderately resistant to blast,downy mildew and corn borer.It is suitable for planting in central-eastern Gansu,the Hexi Corridor,and the Northwest spring millet region.The adoption of high-efficiency cultivation techniques can fully realize its variety advantages to achieve high-yield,high-quality,and high-efficiency production goals,ensuring that Longgu 24 plays a greater role in agricultural production.关键词
