Abstract

This study aimed to screen for processing potato varieties with superior comprehensive shape and suitability for cul-tivation in the alpine semi-arid region of Hexi and to address issues such as limited diversity of local processing potato varieties,weak stress resistance of dominant varieties,and unstable yields.7 introduced processing potato varieties were systematically assessed for their phenological traits,disease resistance,yield,and tuber quality were.Results revealed significant variations in growth duration among the varieties varying between 103 d to 132 d,among which Xisen 6 exhibited the shortest growth period,while Longshu 6 had the longest.Yunshu 304 achieved the highest average yield of 62 525.4 kg/ha,which represented a 38.78%increase compared to the control variety Atlantic,and displayed the highest resistance to late blight,with a disease incidence of only 4%.Maiken 1 had the high-est tuber dry matter content of 308 g/kg,while Xisen 6 contained the highest vitamin C content of 179.2 mg/kg along with relatively low reducing sugar levels.A comprehensive evaluation using the membership function method indicated that Xisen 6 exhibited the strongest adaptability,with a comprehensive score of 0.61,followed by Yunshu 304 and Longshu 6 with comprehensive scores of 0.59 and 0.57,respectively.It is recommended that Xisen 6,Yunshu 304,and Maiken 1 to be prioritized in the development of a processing potato variety framework in Shandan County.These findings provide reference for high-quality processing potatoes production in the region and the sustainable development of the industry.
