Abstract
Ankylosing spondylitis(AS)is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily affects the axial skeleton,charac-terized by sacroiliitis as well as pain and stiffness of the spine.In severe cases,it can lead to spinal deformity and ankylosis,making it a refractory,chronic,and inflammatory autoimmune disease.AS can be categorized under the scope of"Da Lou"in traditional Chinese medicine.Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes a holistic approach and syndrome differentiation and treatment determination in managing AS."traditional Chinese medicine as the mainstay,combined with sports therapy"constitutes the core part of professor Yan Xiaoping's"Five-Link"therapy.The organic combination of the two not only attaches importance to traditional Chinese medicine treatment but also emphasizes the significance of rehabilitation exercises.Working synergistically with traditional Chinese medicine,this combination can effectively relieve patients'symptoms,reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal side effects and cardiovascular adverse events caused by long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,improve patients'quality of life,and delay the progression of the disease.It fully embodies the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine's holistic concept and syndrome differentiation and treatment,providing reliable clinical experience and effective treatment ideas for the management of AS.关键词
