Updated generalized displacement control method in structural nonlinear analysis

Abstract
Nonlinear analysis is aneffective way for predicting the bearing capacity orultimate strength of a structure.The incremental-iterative method is often used to solve the equilibrium path.In order to establish an efficient and stable solution technique,the significance of the increment factor in calculation is studied in detail from the basic idea of solving the nonlinear path by the increment iterative method,and the key points that should be considered are explained.The size of the increment step and the loading/unloading state of the structure are determined by introducing the current generalized stiffness parameters and the dot product of the initial displacement increment of the forward and backward incremental steps.Meanwhile,four updated orthogonal iterative reference vectors are selected to form four updated orthogonal iterative convergence paths,and the updated generalized displacement control method is established for nonlinear structural analysis.Numerical cases demonstrate the reliability of the updated generalized displacement control method in solving nonlinear paths of complex structures,showcasing improved stability and efficiency,particularly at larger incremental steps.关键词
