Discussion of the theory of yin fire by Li Dongyuan
摘要
Abstract
Yin fire described by Li Dongyuan refers to the fire caused by internal injuries,manifested in the heart through the thoroughfare channel due to the deficiency of the spleen and stomach and the damage of primordial qi,which leads to the departure of ministerial fire.The syndrome of yin fire is a series of syndromes caused by dysfunction of the spleen and stomach,resulting in an imbalance of qi and fire,and its pathogenesis includes both deficiency in body resistance and excess in manifestations,showing a mixture of cold and heat.Deficiency in body resistance is primarily characterized by deficiency of the spleen and stomach,damage to primordial qi,and yang qi failing to ascend,which can affect the remaining four organs.While excess in manifestations is mainly characterized by blazing yin fire,blockage of qi movement,and phlegm-fire conglomeration.According to the pathogenesis of yin fire syndrome,the author summarizes Li Dongyuan's treatment principle and methods as liver fire assisting the transformation of the spleen,invigorating the spleen and promoting yang qi,and adapting medications to the four seasons.It is advised that sweet medicines be used to purge fire,eliminate phlegm,and promote qi circulation.关键词
