Syndrome differentiation and treatment of adenoid hypertrophy in children by stages based on the theory of"collateral diseases"
摘要
Abstract
Adenoid hypertrophy is a common chronic respiratory disease in pediatrics.This disease tends to linger over time and is difficult to heal,which is consistent with the pathogeneses of chronic persistent diseases described in the collateral disease theory as being"protracted"and"stubborn".The core pathogenesis of adenoidal hypertrophy is identified as viscera deficiency,phlegm and blood stasis blocking collaterals,triggered by external pathogens.Therefore,its treatment should be delivered by adhering to the pathogenesis closely,focused on the"collateral disorders"by stages,and based on syndrome differentiation.In its acute phase,as exogenous pathogens invade collaterals and the lung loses its harmonizing and descending function,the disease should be treated by eliminating pathogens and dredging collaterals with pungent herbs.While in its remission period,as zang-fu viscera stay deficient and collaterals are malnourished and deficient,the disease should be handled by strengthening the body's healthy qi and nourishing collaterals,integrating dredging collaterals with replenishing vital qi.In its protracted period,as phlegm and blood stasis get intermingled and obstruct collaterals,the disease should be treated by resolving phlegm and dissipating blood stasis,promoting qi circulation to activate collaterals.The treatment,administered by stages and tackling both symptoms and root causes,can harmonize qi and blood,unblock collaterals,alleviate all symptoms.It is held that the treatment idea may improve the condition of child patients,shorten the duration of the disease,and reduce its recurrence.关键词
