摘要
Abstract
As a crossroads of traditional culture and modern culture, small towns provide a unique cultural intermediary role that offers a special field for the cultural identity reconstruction of young intellectuals. In WU Ran's novels Floating days and Suspended moon, the protagonist SHI Zihe is profoundly influenced by three force:traditional culture in northern Jiangsu rural areas, modern urban culture, and Western educational concepts, leading him into an identity confusion typical of young intellectuals in small towns. The"imagined nostalgia"GUI Lan of,an overseas Chinese returnee, stand a sharp contrasts to SHI Zihe's"experienced nostalgia":the former is based on cultural discourse construction, while the latter stems from real-life experiences, revealing the differences between distinct modes of cultural identity.Using the literary analysis method, this study analyzes the unique advantages of young intellectuals in small towns who possess both traditional cultural heritage and modern civilization perspectives. The process of their cultural identity reconstruction not only demonstrates the internal mechanisms formed by the creative integration of traditional and modern cultures, but also provides reference for dealing with the relationship between traditional and modern cultures, local and foreign cultures in the context of globalization.关键词
