胶黏剂在木材表面润湿行为的研究进展
Research progress on the wetting behaviors of adhesives on wood surface
摘要
Abstract
Modern timber architecture offers advantages of lightweight construction and high assembly efficiency.Engineered wood products represented by glued laminated timber(GLT),cross-laminated timber(CLT),and laminated veneer lumber(LVL)have become essential load-bearing components in beams and columns due to their exceptional strength-to-weight ratios. With these materials serving as the load-bearing framework, modern timber architecture demonstrates strong earthquake resistance and significantly lower energy consumption in production and construction, over 30%less than traditional reinforced concrete materials, contributing to the low-carbon development of civil architectures. The mechanical performance and durability of these materials directly are key determinants of the service safety of timber structures, with the wood-adhesive interphase recognized as the critical region governing stress-strain transfer mechanisms. The mechanical properties of wood-adhesive interphase are the key factors determining the application scenarios and service life of engineered wood products. The wood-adhesive interphase plays an important role in stress and strain transferring as engineered wood products are subjected to load. The structural integrity and mechanical properties of the wood-adhesive interphase determines the macroscopic mechanical strength of engineered wood products.Research demonstrated that the wetting of adhesive on the wood surface was a prerequisite for forming a tightly bonded wood-adhesive interphase. However, due to the porous structure and complex chemical composition of wood, the wetting behavior of adhesives on the wood surface was a complex process that is manipulated by multiple factors. This review summarized the research progress on adhesive wetting behaviors on wood surfaces and clarified the physical and chemical basis of wetting, with particular emphasis on the applications of molecular dynamics simulations to study the influence of wood chemical components on wetting behaviors. This review systematically elucidated the interaction between the anatomical characteristics of wood and the wetting behavior of adhesives, with a focus on the three anatomical sections(transverse, radial, and tangential)that determine the adhesive flow paths. It also analyzed and summarized the effects of early and late wood, sapwood and heartwood, and wood texture on the wetting behavior of adhesives on wood surfaces. The moisture content was another key parameter affecting the dimensional stability of engineered wood products during the bonding process. At the same time, the influence of surface pretreatment techniques on interfacial wettability was evaluated, including roughness treatment, extract treatment, heat treatment, and plasma treatment.Meanwhile,as adhesives directly affect stress transfer efficiency at the interface of wood adhesives, this review also summarized the effects of the relative molecular weight, types, and synthesis molar ratio of adhesive prepolymers on wetting behavior, providing theoretical basis for optimizing the mechanical properties of engineered wood products and promoting the long-term application of timber architectures.关键词
