Abstract

Metallographic observation,X-ray diffractometer(XRD)phase analysis,tensile test and hardness measurement were carried out on 1RK91 stainless steel specimens subjected to different passes of equal channel angular pressing(ECAP)and aging treatment.The results showed that strain-induced martensitic transformation occurred in 1RK91 stainless steel during ECAP,which was closely related to the diffusion and migration of dislocations.After 5 passes of ECAP treatment,the yield strength of the specimens increased from the initial 373 MPa to 478 MPa,and the dislocation density increased from 4.10×1010 cm−2 to 7.98×1010 cm−2.After aging treatment at 500℃for 2 h,the peak Vickers hardness of the specimens increased to 395.When aged at 450℃for 30 min followed by aging at 500℃for 90 min,the specimens exhibited a higher peak Vickers hardness of 429.The specimens treated with 5 passes of ECAP achieved the maximum self-corrosion potential of −0.324 V and a self-corrosion current density of 0.445×10−6 A/cm2,indicating improved corrosion resistance.
