Interpretation of TFOS DEWS Ⅲ:Diagnostic Methodology

Abstract
Dry eye is a multifactorial disease characterized by an imbalance in the homeostasis of the tear film and ocu-lar surface,accompanied by ocular symptoms.In May 2025,the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society(TFOS)published the TFOS DEWS Ⅲ:Diagnostic Methodology,in which the definition of dry eye was updated,emphasizing"symptomatic",and a new etiologically driven subclassification method was proposed.In addition,it recommended the use of the Ocular Surface Disease Index-6 questionnaire to simplify the diagnostic steps.This article aims to interpret the updated content of TFOS DEWS Ⅲ:Diagnostic Methodology.关键词
