Impact of climate policy uncertainty on corporate green collaborative innovation
摘要
Abstract
As climate issues become increasingly severe,the need to mitigate extreme climate change has become more urgent,mak‐ing policy measures a key driver of sustainable development.However,the diversity of climate policies and the complexity of their im‐plementation pace further highlight policy uncertainty,intensifying corporate environmental compliance and operational pressures while placing higher demands on green innovation models.Therefore,reconstructing the logic of green innovation to effectively respond to pol‐icy fluctuations has become a critical issue for enterprises seeking green transformation and high-quality development,as well as a focal point for both theoretical and practical discussions.This study used A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2008 to 2023 as the research sample,constructing a firm-level climate policy uncertainty index to examine its impact and underlying mecha‐nisms on corporate green collaborative innovation.The findings revealed that:①Climate policy uncertainty significantly enhanced cor‐porate green collaborative innovation,and this conclusion remained robust across multiple robustness tests.②Mechanism tests indicat‐ed that climate policy uncertainty effectively drove firms to engage in green innovation through collaboration via the effects of"in‐creased environmental costs"and"reduced risk-taking."③Heterogeneity analysis based on the"technology-orgnization-environ‐ment"framework showed that the positive impact of climate policy uncertainty on green collaborative innovation was more pronounced when firms had a higher degree of digital transformation,engaged in overseas business,or operated in regions with stricter environmen‐tal regulations.④Economic consequence tests revealed that after prompting firms to adopt a collaborative approach to green innovation,climate policy uncertainty significantly enhanced firms'product market competitiveness in the following one to three periods and im‐proved total factor productivity in the subsequent three periods.These findings provide theoretical support and practical insights for firms navigating climate policy uncertainty through collaborative innovation,promoting sustainable and high-quality development.关键词
