Design of Over-Height Container Truck Protection System for Port Freight Suspended Monorail Trains

Abstract
In port freight collection and distribution systems,suspended monorail trains operating in fully automatic mode and ground container trucks with a height of more than 6 meters(referred to as"over-height container truck")use shared-space areas on their running paths,causing frequent conflicts.To address this,this paper proposes an over-height container truck protection system for sky trains.An initial analysis was conducted,investigating timing and characteristics of shared-space area occupations by both fully automated sky trains and operating over-height container trucks.Based on detection of their operating positions,an automatic protection system was designed.It enables time division multiplexed access to these shared-space areas,ensuring operational safety for trains and trucks.Field tests and applications indicate that in scenarios where the shared-space areas are unoccupied by monorail trains,this automatic protection system reduces the average passage time of over-height container trucks through the restricted areas by about 32.8%,compared with manual protection operations.The system effectively improves operational safety and transport efficiency for both trains and trucks and contributes to a higher utilization rate of port resources.关键词
