Abstract
A silt dam is a soil and water conservation project constructed in the Loess Plateau region to reduce the inflow of sediment into the Yellow River,retain floodwaters and silt,and reclaim farmland from silt.In recent years,the frequent occurrence of water damage disasters in silt dams has made it necessary to conduct research on the mechanism of silt dam failure.This study analyzes the erosion mechanism of the"steep slope"of silt dams in the Loess Plateau region through indoor experiments.The results indicate that the moisture content is the decisive factor determining the erosion morphology.When the moisture content is low,layered erosion is dominant,while when the moisture content is high,it transforms into block instability erosion.The compaction degree and inflow have an impact,but their effect is limited.The research results can provide reference for the design of local silt dams and disaster prevention and control.关键词
