Abstract
Qujiang district suffered three consecutive heavy rainfall events.After nearly six days of continuous flood discharge through the spillway of Cangcun reservoir,a collapse hazard occurred in the downstream floor of the spillway.Calculations and analyses based on geological surveys,geological radar and core detection results,and design drawings revealed the main causes of the spillway failure:Under extreme conditions such as heavy rain and high water levels,reservoir water infiltrated downstream through geological faults and soil beneath the floor,gradually eroding fine particles to form seepage channels,which led to floor voiding.Eventually,the floor failed under the combined action of uplift pressure and pulsating pressure.This analysis of the spillway failure causes and the proposed risk removal and reinforcement measures can provide references for similar engineering projects.关键词
