Review of VSC-HVDC Transmission Technology for Large Capacity Deep Offshore Wind Power

Abstract
From the viewpoint of global new energy development,offshore wind power(OWP)is the main battlefield and is developing towards large-capacity,clustered,long-distance.Voltage source converter based high voltage direct current transmission(VSC-HVDC)is still the mainstream transmission method and hot research direction for large-capacity and long-distance wind power integrating.In this paper,firstly,overview of key projects in operation,construction in process,and planning of VSC-HVDC for OWP are introduced.Then,the typical DC topology,AC collection for offshore wind farms,key electrical equipment of converter stations,and the control and protection technology are introduced,and the research status and engineering applications are summarized.Finally,the development directions and challenges are pointed out,including the research and development in compact and lightweight key equipment and offshore platform of VSC-HVDC for large-capacity and long-distance OWP,the research on topology structure and networking technology of VSC-HVDC for OWP under offshore-onshore integration,real-time measurement of broadband impedance,improvement of oscillation online evaluation technology,exploration of other new transmission technologies,etc.关键词
