Research Progress on Crack Arrest Calculation Toughness Model of Supercritical CO2 Pipeline based on Correction Coefficient Method

Abstract
The deployment of pipeline transportation for supercritical CO2 has become an inevitable trend in the development of Carbon Capture,Utilization,and Storage(CCUS)technologies.Currently,no unified regulations or practices exist for calculating fracture arrest insupercritical CO2 pipelines.By reviewing relevant literature and standards both domestically and internationally,this study consolidates research findings regarding parameter modifications for supercritical CO2 pipelines based on the Battelle two-curve fracture arrest model.Furthermore,by incorporating recent engineering design conditions for supercritical CO2 pipelines,a comparative analysis was conducted on various correction outcomes of fracture arrest toughness,leading to the identification of toughness levels corresponding to different correction approaches.Comparisons with full-scale burst test results worldwide indicate that applying a correction factor of 2.5 to the fracture arrest toughness calculated via the Battelle two-curve model meets the design requirements for crack arrest.This factor ensures the safety of engineering designs,as supported by current domestic full-scale burst test data.关键词
