摘要

Abstract

Red mud is a solid residue produced in the process of alumina production,which has high yield and great pollution.Its efficient comprehensive utilization is of great significance for the healthy and sustainable development of alumina industry.This paper summarizes the utilization status of red mud in the fields of building materials and envi-ronmental governance,summarizes the application progress of red mud in the production of cement,unburned bricks and the adsorption of heavy metal ions in wastewater by red mud as adsorbent,analyzes the recovery process of the main valuable components(iron,aluminum,sodium,titanium and rare earth)in red mud and their advantages and disadvantages,and combs the application status of red mud in the field of catalysis in recent years.Catalysts modified by red mud or directly produced have a good effect on the treatment of pollutants in wastewater and waste gas.The extraction of valuable components and the efficient utilization of all components are the key paths to realize the reduc-tion and high value of red mud in the future.
