Abstract
Corrosion-resistant alloy(CRA)pipelines lined with stainless steel are becoming increasingly common in modern submarine construction.These pipelines are suitable for harsh environments because of their corrosion resistance.However,if excessive defects are found in the stainless steel lining,a section of the pipe must be cut out and replaced.During the offshore laying of submarine pipelines,the cutting and rewelding process forces the vessel to reverse its oper-ation.This consumes a large amount of time and risks damaging the external coating of the submarine pipeline.This study introduces an operational scheme for offshore pipe-laying,which was developed from the actual use of the HYSY 201 vessel.The scheme employs digital radiography technology to proactively detect weld root defects.This allows for the advanced cutting and treatment of defective stainless steel lining,significantly reducing the time and operational workload associated with vessel reversal and pipe cutting.The proposed method provides a valuable reference for cir-cumferential weld inspection during the offshore laying of CRA submarine pipelines.关键词
