Abstract
The incidence of secretory otitis media in children is much higher than that in adults,which has a certain impact on children's hearing,speech,cognition,and learning.While the existing conventional treatment has a rapid effect on secretory otitis media,it has certain limitations:antibiotics can easily lead to drug resistance and adverse reactions;decongestants do not significantly improve the symptoms of secretory otitis media;the recurrence rate is high after surgery.Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment of secretory otitis media has become a hot research topic.Leveraging long-term clinical experience,Professor Deng Kebin divides the course of secretory otitis media in children into three stages:the initial stage,the manifest stage,and the recovery stage,whose pathogenesis is exposure to wind and obstruction of the auditory canal in the initial stage,liver and spleen disorders and interior retention of dampness-heat in the manifest stage,and lung and spleen qi deficiency,healthy qi deficiency,and pathogenic qi lingering in the recovery stage.Further,Professor Deng adopts the approach of combination of the disease and symptoms and phased dynamic treatment and has achieved good clinical results,providing new ideas for the diagnosis and treatment of secretory otitis media.关键词
