Effect of meridian-based acupoint massage combined with acupoint ap-plication on cardiac function,quality of life and psychological status in patients with chronic heart failure

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of meridian-based acupoint massage combined with acupoint application on cardiac function,quality of life and psychological status in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods A total of 96 patients with CHF admitted to Affiliated Hospital of Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine from June 2023 to January 2025 were selected as the research objects.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group(n=32),meridian massage group(n=32)and combined group(n=32).The control group received routine intervention,the meridian massage group received routine intervention+meridian-based acupoint massage,and the combined group received routine intervention+meridian-based acupoint massage+acupoint application.The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),6-minute walk test(6MWT),cardiac output(CO),Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire(MLH-FQ)score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)score,self-rating depression scale(SDS)score and self-efficacy for chronic disease 6-item scale(SECD6)were compared among the three groups before and after intervention.Results Before intervention,there were no statistically significant differences in traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,LVEF,LVEDD,6MWT,CO,MLH-FQ scores,SAS scores,SDS scores and SECD6 scores among the three groups(P＞0.05).After intervention,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,LVEDD,MLH-FQ scores,SAS scores and SDS scores of the three groups were lower than those before intervention,and those of the meridian massage group and the combined group were lower than those of the control group,and those of the combined group were lower than those of the meridian massage group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).After intervention,the LVEF,6MWT,CO and SECD6 scores of the three groups were higher than those before intervention,and those of the meridian massage group and the combined group were higher than those of the control group,and those of the combined group were higher than those of the meridian massage group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion Meridian-based acupoint massage combined with acupoint application can relieve the clinical symptoms of CHF patients,improve their cardiac function,quality of life and psychological state.关键词
