摘要

Abstract

To assess the feasibility of heat-activated Persulfate(PS)oxidation for the degradation of Gemifloxacin(GMX)in wastewater,the kinetics of GMX degradation and activation energy were in-vestigated through batch experiments.Various reaction conditions and the influence of coexisting wa-ter matrices on GMX degradation performance were examined.The results indicated that increasing temperature and persulfate concentration significantly enhanced GMX degradation,which followed a first-order kinetic model with an activation energy of 104.22 kJ/mol.Under acidic and neutral condi-tions,sulfate radicals(·SO-4)were the primary contributors to GMX degradation,while hydroxyl radicals(·OH)contributed equally to·SO-4 under strong alkaline conditions that was associated with a decrease in the rate of GMX degradation.Chloride ions promoted the GMX degradation,while bicarbonate and fulvic acid inhibited it.Despite a mineralization rate of only 30.6%for GMX,the in-termediate products generated in the reaction did not exhibit microbial toxicity.
