Abstract

High-temperature bulksuperconductors are widely used in a variety of superconducting equipment due to their high critical current density,large magnetic field capture capability and other advantages.According to different applications,bulk superconductors can be processed into different shapes.At present,there are fewer comparative studies on the electromagnetic behavior of bulk superconductors with different geometries,so the electromagnetic-mechanical behavior of non-uniform bulk superconductors with different geometries is investigated.Based on the H-formulation,heat conduction equation and mechanical equilibrium equation,the electric-magnetic-thermal-force multi-field coupling finite element simulation model is established by considering the non-uniform current density characteristics.The electromagnetic properties,temperature distribution and mechanical properties of circular bulk superconductors and rectangular bulk superconductors during pulsed field magnetization are analyzed and compared.The results show that the rectangular bulk has a stronger magnetic field capture capability than the circular bulk for the same area if the peak applied magnetic field is greater than 5 T.The residual capture field of the rectangular bulk is about 18.82%higher than that of the circular bulk superconductor for a peak applied magnetic field of 5.5 T.However,there is a larger stress at the edges,and the maximal stress value is increased by 16.03%.The capture field and temperature distribution are more uniform in the circular bulk superconductors.The study can provide a reference for the selection of bulk superconductor geometries for different applications.
