Abstract

The finned suction caisson has gained significant attention in offshore wind power engineering due to its excellent in-place holding capacity.During service,the foundation simultaneously sustains environmental loads(wind,wave,and current)and pull-out loads transmitted through mooring chains.Using the finite element software ABAQUS,this study systematically investigates the pull-out response charac-teristics of a finned suction caisson with an aspect ratio of 1.5.The research focuses on the effects of key parameters including caisson-soil interface conditions,load inclination,padeye depth,and soil strength distribution on the foundation's mechanical behavior.Results indicate that the formation of tension gap significantly reduces the ultimate pull-out capacity of the foundation,with this weakening effect being more pronounced in traditional suction caissons,showing approximately 7%greater capacity reduction compared to finned suction caissons.The padeye location significantly influences the failure mechanism:when the padeye is located above its optimal depth,the soil exhibits an upper wedge-lower spoon failure mode;otherwise,the failure transitions from wedge sliding to spoon sliding.This study provides theoretical support for the design optimization and performance enhancement of finned suction caissons.
