Abstract
Thermoplastic elastomers(TPE)are a class of polymeric materials that combine the elasticity of rubber with the processability of ther-moplastics.They exhibit typical rubber-like elastic behavior at room temperature but can undergo plastic flow and be processed into shapes at elevated temperatures.In recent decades,the family of TPE materials has continually expanded,with various structural types being developed and significant research progress made in their flame retardant modification.This review focuses on the key flame-retardant strategies and tech-nical pathways employed for TPE based on their different structures and classifications.It provides a detailed analysis of additive flame-retard-ant modification methods and their application characteristics.Furthermore,it summarizes emerging functional modification approaches for en-hancing flame retardancy in TPE,such as organic-inorganic hybrid flame-retardant systems,nano-composite flame-retardant systems,mi-croencapsulation,the incorporation of functional components,and the development of novel flame retardants.These methods broaden the per-spectives on TPE flame retardant modification and offer valuable insights for the development of TPE towards high-performance,environmental-ly friendly industrial applications with improved fire safety.关键词
