Textual research on medicated diets with Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)as the principal medicine

Abstract

Objective To achieve a clearer presentation of the edible history and specific consumption methods of medicated diets with Baihe(Lilii Bulbus).Methods A search was conducted in ancient book databases for medicated diets with Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)as the principal medicine,followed by tracing back to the original texts.The medicated diets were then categorized and organized into a table based on the name of the ancient book,author,dynasty,drug composition,decoction and administration methods,and efficacy and indications.Results A total of ten medicated diets with Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)as the pincipal medicine were identified,including Sanxian Paste,Bai(Baihe)Hua Paste,Baihe Congee,Baihe Decoction,Baihe Jiegeng Jizi Soup,Qingning Paste,Ningsou Lozenge,Renshen Yanwo Baihe Soup,Lifei Paste,and Lipi Cake.These diets were primarily used to treat pulmonary diseases such as cough,hemoptysis,lung atrophy,lung abscess,and hoarseness.Conclusion The composition and preparation of medicated diets with Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)as the principal medicine are generally simple.Their advantage lies in providing convenient methods for Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)consumption and offering broad potential for innovative modern development and application,aiming for diversification in target audiences and purposes.This research contributes to providing a scientific basis for the development of Baihe(Lilii Bulbus)of food-medicine homology and offers more robust support for its consumption methods within the context of ongoing modern innovation.
