Nanofertilizers in Agriculture:Advances and Challenges

Abstract
Nanofertilizers,as a novel class of fertilizers developed through nanotechnology,leverage the unique physicochemical properties of nanomaterials to achieve efficient nutrient transport and precise regulation.Compared to conventional fertilizers,nanofertilizers exhibit superior nutrient use efficiency due to their size effects and controlled-release properties,effectively reducing application dosage and agricultural production costs while mitigating environmental pollution risks caused by nutrient leaching.In recent years,the application of nanofertilizers in agricultural production has demonstrated multifaceted benefits,including enhanced crop yield,improved fruit quality,and increased plant tolerance to abiotic stress,positioning them as a promising solution to address the escalating global population and food demand.At present,research on plant nanotoxicology remains insufficient,with numerous unknowns persisting in the interaction mechanisms between nanofertilizers and the environment,as well as their potential risks to soil microorganisms,animals,and even humans.The recent advancements in nanofertilizer research were summarized,and systematically elucidated their multifaceted impacts on crop growth and development,and discussed existing limitations in large-scale implementation,which provided theoretical guidance for their practical application in sustainable agriculture.关键词
