Abstract

Fresh Chinese medicine,as a special form of Chinese medicinal materials,has a long history of application.This study referred to the historical editions of Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(hereinafter referred to as the Chinese Pharmaco-poeia),quality standards for Chinese medicinal materials and the preparation norms for traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces in different regions,summarized the inclusion situation of fresh Chinese medicine.The Chinese Pharmacopoeia(2025)describes the properties,tastes,and indications of fresh and dry medicinal materials separately under the variety of fresh Chinese medicine,affirming the differences between fresh and dry medicinal materials.The number and proportion of fresh Chinese medicine included in local stand-ards vary greatly,with the maximum being as many as 118 species and the minimum being as low 1 species.By consulting literature,the research situation of fresh Chinese medicine in the past 20 years was summarized in this study.The results of the study showed that Chinese medicine has obvious advantages in component content and pharmacological activity.This coincides with the ancients' view that the fresh is superior.The application prospects of fresh Chinese medicine are broad.The relevant research is in-depth,but the develop-ment and application are facing many difficulties.Based on the research and promotion idea of Chinese medicine formula particles,sug-gestions are put forward to solve the problems of difficult quality control,preservation and inconvenient clinical dispensing of fresh Chinese medicine from the prospective of processing fresh medicinal materials into"new forms of decoction pieces".It aims to put for-ward ideas and provide theoretical basis for the development,application and popularization of fresh Chinese medicine.
