Abstract

In this paper,the effects of functional additives 620N,620H and Cool 01 on the thermal comfort performance of nylon knitted sleeve covers were evaluated by using warm-body dummy and infrared temperature measurement system.By measuring the changes in the temperature of the warm-body dummy's forearm and the fabric surface,the influence laws of additive dosage and finishing agent types on the heat transfer coefficient were explored.The experimental results indicated that the cooling efficiency of the additives highly depended on the en-vironmental temperature and the intensity of exercise(simulating heating power).At normal temperature(25℃)and moderate to low exercise intensity(50~100 W),620N demonstrated the fastest cooling rate due to its excel-lent heat conduction performance;while at high temperature(32℃),due to the reduced temperature difference between the human body and the environment,the cooling enhancement of all additives was limited,and Cool 01 failed due to the premature phase change of the phase change material.In the initial stage of high-intensity exer-cise(150 W),Cool 01 was temporarily at the leading place through phase change heat absorption,but with the end of phase change,its performance was surpassed by 620H which could continuously conduct heat exchange.The study revealed the action mechanisms and applicable scenarios of different additives(fast heat conduction type,continuous heat absorption type and phase change heat storage type),providing an important basis for de-veloping intelligent thermal comfort textiles for specific application environment.
