Abstract

Additive manufacturing(AM)technology is an advanced intelligent manufacturing technology of great strategic value,hailed as one of the core technologies that will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.Heat exchange equipment based on additive manufacturing boasts disruptive advantages such as compactness,lightweight design,and freeform fabrication.However,non-destructive testing(NDT)technology remains one of the key bottlenecks restricting the quality assurance of additive manufactured heat exchangers.Firstly,this paper systematically sorts out the typical defect types of additive manu-factured products,classifies them into two categories—planar defects and volumetric defects—and clarifies their formation mechanisms.Secondly,targeting the service characteristics of nuclear-grade heat exchange equipment,it conducts applicabil-ity research on traditional surface testing methods(such as visual testing),traditional volumetric testing methods(such as ra-diographic testing),and new non-destructive testing methods(such as acoustic emission testing),analyzing the performance of each method in terms of defect detection sensitivity,material adaptability,and nuclear service condition compatibility.Fi-nally,preset defect test blocks(with lack of fusion and porosity as typical defects)based on the laser powder bed fusion(L-PBF)process are designed.Through the combined detection of X-ray film method and digital radiography(DR),the quanti-tative relationship between preset defects and actual defects is established,and the detection sensitivity threshold is deter-mined.This research provides key technical support for the construction of the non-destructive testing evaluation system and the assurance of product quality for nuclear-grade additive manufactured products.
