Study on non-Gaussian characteristics of wind loads on offshore large-scale platform photovoltaic power stations

Abstract
To enhance the rationality and safety of wind-resistant design for offshore photovoltaic(PV)power stations,wind tunnel experiments were conducted to analyze the non-Gaussian characteristics of wind loads and the extreme wind pressure distribution features on offshore large-scale platform PV power stations.The differences in peak factor estimation methods were also compared to provide a reference for standardized wind-resistant design.The results indicate that the non-Gaussian characteristics of wind loads on PV modules are more pronounced under the wind directional angles near 0° and 180°.These characteristics are observed at the upper edges of the downstream modules in the array(the wind directional angle of 0°)and the lower edge regions between the adjacent rows of the modules(the wind directional angle of 180°),respectively.The for-mer exhibits a right-skewed tail in the probability distribution,while the latter shows a left-skewed tail.Under the oblique wind directional angles such as 210° and 330°,the overall wind load distribution tends to be closer to Gaussian characteristics.The proportion of the non-Gaussian regions is higher under the wind directional angles of 0° to 30° and 150° to 180°,with a maximum value of 14.7%.The peak factor estimation results ob-tained by different methods are significantly distinct.The predictions based on the skewness coefficient method are close to the experimental results,whereas the traditional code-based methods tend to underestimate extreme wind pressures in the regions with significant non-Gaussian characteristics.关键词
