The influence of property rights cognition on farmers' willingness to transfer homesteads:The moderating role of property rights security
摘要
Abstract
Effectively revitalizing unused or inefficiently used rural homesteads is crucial for achieving comprehensive rural revitalization.Drawing on property rights theory,this study explores in depth the effects and mechanisms through which property rights cognition and property rights security influence farmers' willingness to transfer rural homesteads,and conducts empirical tests using multilevel regression models and moderation effect models.The results reveal that:1)Overall,farmers' private property rights cognition to homestead significantly and positively influences their willingness to transfer,with ownership and mortgage rights cognition having a notably positive effect,while inheritance rights cognition,though positive,is not statistically significant.2)Property rights security significantly and positively affects farmers' willingness to transfer homestead.3)Property rights security plays a crucial moderating role in the relationship between property rights cognition and farmers' willingness to transfer.Specifically,it exhibits a negative moderating effect on ownership and inheritance rights cognition,while showing a significant positive moderating effect on mortgage rights cognition.4)The influence of property rights cognition and property rights security on farmers' willingness to transfer is shaped by external contextual factors such as rural governance actors,governance capacity,and governance performance,with the effects demonstrating clear heterogeneity across different dimensions of rural governance.Accordingly,it is proposed to progressively clarify the property rights and powers associated with rural homesteads and enhance public awareness regarding such rights,improve the system for confirming ownership of homesteads and establish a dynamic management mechanism,and organically integrate the reform of the homestead property rights system with the transformation of rural governance.These measures will jointly lay a solid institutional foundation for strengthening farmers' willingness to transfer homesteads and for effectively revitalizing idle or underutilized homestead resources.关键词
