Comparative Experiment on New Pink-fruit Tomato Varieties for Solar Greenhouse Cultivation in Hexi Oasis Irrigation Areas

Abstract

To enrich local tomato variety resource,improve tomato production efficiency,and increase farmers'economic in-come,this study aimed to screen new pink-fruit tomato variety suitable for cultivation in solar greenhouses of the Hexi Oasis Irrigation Area.6 pink-fruit tomato variety,Huafan 12,Yijianong 12,Jinpeng 13,Huamei 1575,Fengda 11,and ALC02,were used as experi-mental materials,and the locally cultivated variety Aojin 3 was used as the control.Botanical characters,fruit characters,yield charac-ters,quality characters,and disease resistance of different pink-fruit tomato variety were comparatively analyzed.Results showed that Huamei 1575 exhibited vigorous growth,pink fruit color,and a fruit shape index of 1.07 with round fruit shape.The fruit firmness reached 3.35 kg/cm2,and the single fruit weight was 215 g.The average yield reached 144 606.1 kg/ha,which was 21.6%higher than that of the local main variety Aojin 3.The soluble solid content,organic acid content,soluble sugar content,and lycopene content were all highest in Huamei 1575,showing increases of 7.1%,22.2%,22.7%,and 41.3%,respectively,compared with those of the control va-riety Aojin 3(CK).No occurrence of tomato yellow leaf curl virus disease,fusarium wilt,septoria leaf spot,or late blight was observed.The incidence of gray leaf spot and gray mold was the lowest,showing the strongest comprehensive disease resistance.In conclusion,the new pink-fruit tomato variety Huamei 1575 possesses good taste,excellent quality,strong commercial characteristic,high yield,and strong disease resistance with outstanding comprehensive performance,and can be recommended as a demonstration variety for cultivation and promotion in solar greenhouse production in the Hexi Oasis Irrigation Area.
