Research on Industrial Test of Plasma Ignition for High-Moisture Lignite in 600 MW Units Based on Flexibility of Thermal Power Generation

Abstract
In light of 600 MW-class units fueled by high-moisture lignite,an industrial test on high-power plasma ignition was conducted.The influences of several factors on ignition,combustion,and boiler startup,including the initial fuel feed rate of the coal mill,primary air temperature,air velocity,and generator power,etc,were investigated.The test results indicate that for lignite with a total moisture content of 38.6%,plasma ignition enables a fuel-oil-free boiler startup.When applying plasma ignition to the cold start of a 600 MW-class boiler burning high-moisture lignite,the recommended initial fuel input is 24-25 t/h.The primary air velocity exerts a substantial effect on ignition stability,with a lower velocity being more favorable for stable combustion.Meanwhile,a higher hot air temperature and greater generator power are preferable for plasma ignition.When two layers of plasma burners are in operation,the NOx emissions are slightly reduced.This research accumulates valuable data and experience for constructing fuel-oil-free power stations for high-moisture lignite fired units,and also offers robust support for the flexibility retrofit and deep peak shaving participation of such units.关键词
