Exploring Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Tinnitus Based on the Theory That"When the Spleen and Stomach Are Deficient,the Nine Orifices Will Become Obstructed"

Abstract
Based on the theory that"when the spleen and stomach are deficient,the nine orifices will become obstructed,"the patho-genesis of tinnitus lies in dysfunction of spleen-stomach transportation and transformation,resulting in failure of water and grain essence to generate qi and blood,emptiness of the sea of marrow,failure of clear yang to ascend,and failure of turbid yin to descend.Conse-quently,the ear orifices lose nourishment,leading to tinnitus.When spleen-stomach deficiency causes malnourishment of the sea of mar-row,treatment should focus on strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney,replenishing essence,and benefiting marrow.Modified Yin-restoring Pills combined with Center-Supplementing and Qi-Boosting Decoction can be adopted.When spleen-stomach deficiency leads to dysfunction of ascending and descending,treatment should aim to raise the clear and descend the turbid,and moisten and nourish the clear orifices.If clear yang fails to ascend,the primary method is to tonify qi,invigorate the spleen,and nourish the clear orifices,using Center-Supplementing and Qi-Boosting Decoction,and Qi-Replenishing Sharp and Bright Decoction.If turbid yin fails to descend,treat-ment should invigorate the spleen,resolve phlegm,descend turbidity,and open the orifices,with Modified Pinellia and White Atractylodes and Gastrodia Decoction combined with Orifice-Unblocking and Blood-Activating Decoction.When spleen-stomach qi deficiency results in insufficiency of qi and blood generation,treatment should invigorate the spleen and harmonize the stomach,boost qi,and raise yang.Modi-fied Costusroot and Amomum Six Gentlemen Decoction combined with Qi-Replenishing Sharp and Bright Decoction can be adopted.关键词
