Abstract

The balance between siltation and erosion of the Yellow River water supply channel is of great significance for ensuring the stable and sustainable utilization of Yellow River water resources.However,currently it is facing numerous challenges to achieve no-siltation and no-erosion at all.This paper takes the channel below the Xiangfuzhu Sluice as the research object and conducts a study centered on the balance of erosion and deposition under the condition of high sediment water diversion.It elaborates on the concept and characteristics of the balance between erosion and deposition,clearly stating that it is a dynamic stable state under the influence of factors such as water flow,sediment,and channel morphology,as well as the performance of stable channels in terms of cross-section of water flow,flow velocity,sediment content and operating conditions.Based on the engineering situations of Xiangfuzhu Sluice,appropriate calculation formulas are selected to obtain the overall sediment settling velocity.Then,the modified Zhang Ruijin formula for water flow carrying sediment is used to calculate and analyze the flow velocity and flow rate under different sediment contents without erosion or siltation.Based on the research results,relevant suggestions on reducing sediment through gate control are proposed,providing theoretical support and practical references for the optimization and management of water diversion projects in high sediment-laden rivers.
