Research progress on uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferases for flavonoids in medicinal plants

Abstract
Flavonoids are a class of important natural products widely present in medicinal plants and typically exist in the form of glycosides.Uridine diphosphate glycosyltransferases(UGTs)catalyze the glycosylation modification of flavonoids,generating diverse and biologically active flavonoid glycosides.The development of synthetic biology technologies has provided new ways of studying secondary metabolites in medicinal plants and has become a research focus in this field.Focusing on medicinal plants,this paper reviews the latest research progress on UGTs involved in flavonoid biosynthesis pathways,aiming to provide a theoretical reference for the discovery and characterization of plant flavonoid UGTs,as well as for studies on the biosynthesis and regulation of secondary metabolites in medicinal plants.关键词
