Abstract

Against the dual background of the"Healthy China"strategy and the quality enhancement of vocational education,the cultivation of ideals and beliefs among high-er vocational medical students faces the tension between in-tensified skill-oriented training and increasingly utilitarian value orientations.To transcend the limitations of tradition-al didactic approaches,this study introduces the PERMA model from positive psychology and reconstructs the gener-ative logic and practical pathways of"lofty ideals"from a psychological-structural perspective.The paper first clari-fies the conceptual relationship between"reason"and"as-piration,"explaining the mechanism through which ideals evolve from individual survival concerns to broader social responsibility.Based on the five dimensions of PERMA,it then analyzes structural dilemmas in current education,in-cluding insufficient professional emotional support,inade-quate depth of practical engagement,weakened social rela-tional networks,and utilitarian value tendencies.According-ly,a"psychology-skills-values"integrated educational par-adigm is proposed:fostering positive emotions through a humanistic medical environment;strengthening engage-ment via early and expanded clinical practice;rebuilding social connectedness through a collaborative teacher-stu-dent-patient community;deepening meaning through nar-rative medicine;and consolidating accomplishment through a stepwise"micro-achievement"incentive system.This framework aims to internalize and operationalize lofty ideals within higher vocational medical education.
