"Symptomatic Reading"and"Philosophical Practice":On Althusser's New Interpretation of Marxist Philosophy

Abstract
Louis Althusser takes"symptomatic reading"as the core method to read Marxist philosophical texts and reinterprets Marxist philosophy.His two-fold"symptomatic reading"corresponds to the two stages of his reinterpretation of"Marxist philosophy".In his early phase,Althusser used the"Epistemological rupture"of philosophical ideology and science to read Marx with"symptomatic reading",and interpreted Marxist philosophy into a new form of"philosophical practice".In the 1970s phase,Althusser interpreted Lenin with"symptomatic reading",integrating subjectivity on the basis of structuralism and interpreting Marxist philosophy into the philosophical practice of the proletariat.In essence,Althusser's"symptomatic reading"is not merely a diligent interpretation of Marx's philosophical texts,but rather a creative reinterpretation conducted under the banner of"returning to Marx".Consequently,the so-called"authentic"Marx he seeks is not the real Marx but rather an"imagined"Marx.关键词
