Advances in pathologic evaluation of rectal cancer after neoadjuvant therapy

摘要
Abstract
Colorectal cancer has a high incidence and mortality rate,and most patients are already in an ad-vanced stage when they are diagnosed.In recent years,with the extensive adoption of neoadjuvant chemoradio-therapy,the treatment outcome of patients with locally advanced rectal cancer has been significantly improved.Driven by multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment,the department of pathology is playing an increasing role.For rectal cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant therapy,the evaluation of specimens after radical surgery and accurate micro-scopic pathologic evaluation can promptly and reliably demonstrate the effiacy of the treatment plan,which plays a cru-cial role in determining the prognosis and guiding the subsequent treatment.In this article,we review the standardized procedures foe sampling pathological specimens after radical surgery for rectal cancer following neoadjuvant therapy,tumor regression grading system and lymph node ratio assessment,aiming to provide reference for clinicians for accu-rate treatment.关键词
