Research on Assessment,Simulation,and Planning Control of Urban Landscape Visual Corridors:A Case Study based on the Qingzhou Mountain in Macao

Abstract
Objectives:As urban development shifts from rapid expansion to quality orientation,high-density cities face structural conflict between increasingly intensive land use and the need to conserve the natural cultural landscape.This study aims to establish a systematic planning control system for landscape visual corridors.It focuses on recognition,exploration,and precise protection of the visual values of key landscape elements,such as ridgelines,water bodies,and historic landmarks,while maintaining the benefits of urban development.Research results can provide planning guidance and governance tools with both theoretical depth and feasibility for high-density cities. Methods:The study applied the"theoretical construction,method integration,and empirical verification"research pathway,as well as a technical framework centered on scientific identification.Fine evaluation and adaptive control were proposed.First,identification shifts from a single physical space analysis to a people-oriented perception assessment.A hierarchical system of visually sensitive viewpoints was established by introducing the visual crowd recognition and differentiated susceptibility judgment method,thus shifting landscape judgment orientation from objective physical attributes to the audience's visual perception.Second,evaluation integrates multidimensional visual analysis and multi-viewpoint assessment technology,revealing paradigm shifts from static point and line control to dynamic visual network control.Moreover,the key pathway of background control and terrain-logic translation was proposed to evaluate the effects of urban construction on landscape continuity and visuality by modeling elements such as ridgelines,water bodies,and landmarks.Third,an analysis chain from corridor selection to hierarchical control of building heights was established in the control link.Combined with continuous corridor construction and digital simulation of skylines,some operable guidance could serve as a design review to directly form administrative governance. Results:The empirical study indicates that the proposed system improves urban visual quality.With respect to protecting landscape resources,it preserves ridge silhouettes,maintains visual permeability of water bodies,and sustains the visual prominence of historic landmarks,thereby mitigating obstruction and the"visual barrier"effects caused by buildings.To shape spatial forms,the study developed an outcome system comprising protective delineations for critical ridgelines,hierarchical building-height control maps,and implementation provisions.Macao,as the case study,had its viewpoints and visually sensitive areas recognized.The differentiated guidance of building heights,as well as rhythm-optimization strategies for the skylines,were proposed to reveal the dynamic balance between urban construction intensity and landscape visual penetration.The results demonstrate that the proposed system can translate passive visual protection into positive spatial shaping,implementable with the support of dynamic regulation mechanisms and a regulation guarantee strategy. Conclusions:The proposed planning control system of landscape visual corridors offers a systematic solution to the conflict between landscape protection and spatial development in high-density cities.The study concludes:(1)The system shall improve the scientificity of landscape judgment through precise recognition of visually sensitive crowds and sensitive points;(2)The system shall promote transformation from static control to dynamic visual network control and enhance the positive shaping capability of spatial forms through terrain logic translation and other approaches;(3)The scientific recognition and refined assessment shall be coupled with elastic control means,supplemented by regulatory guarantees to assure implementation effectiveness and the sustainability of plans.This study not only provides systematic methods for protecting the visual integrity of natural and cultural landscapes in high-density cities but also offers applicable references to improve space quality and create urban landscape features in similar cities.关键词
