The governance capacity of village cadres and rural family entrepreneurship

Abstract
This study examines the impact of the governance capacity of village cadres on rural household entrepreneurship,pro-viding empirical evidence to advance rural revitalization and modernize rural governance.Taking the village directors as an exam-ple,it discusses the impact of the governance capacity of village directors on rural household entrepreneurial behavior by using the CLDS database.The governance capacity of village directors can significantly improve the probability of entrepreneurship in rural households,and this conclusion remains robust after robustness checks.From an entrepreneurial motive,the governance capacity of village directors has a significant role in survival-driven entrepreneurship and opportunity-driven entrepreneurship,with agreat-er contribution to survival-driven entrepreneurship.From the perspective of entrepreneurial employees,the governance capacity of village directors can significantly improve the self-employment of the rural households,and the marginal effect is significantly higher than that of the employer entrepreneurial.However,for employer-type entrepreneurship,village directors'education and corporate management experience have a significant promoting effect,and the positive effect of years of office is not significant.In addition,the governance capacity of village directors can enhance rural household entrepreneurship probability through village non-agricultural development,village public goods supply,farmland transfer and information sharing.Under the background of rural governance modernization,emphasizing the economic governance capacity of village cadres and improving the mechanisms for their selection and cultivation will help accelerate the modernization of national governance capacity.关键词
