Research Progress in Remote Sensing Estimation of Forest Carbon Stock Based on GEE Platform

Abstract
Forests,as the largest carbon pool in terrestrial ecosystems,are of great significance in climate regulation and the achievement of the"dual carbon"goals.Advances in multi-source remote sensing technologies provide a faster and more sufficient way to retrieve the data required for carbon stock assessment.In particular,the Google Earth Engine(GEE)platform,with its extensive archive of satellite imagery and formidable computational capacity,has emerged as a pivotal tool for estimating forest carbon storage.This review synthesizes the research advancements in estimating forest carbon stock using remote sensing data within the GEE platform,and highlights GEE's advantages and practical applications in multi-source remote sensing data integration and advanced modeling algorithms.While acknowledging GEE's significant advantages,the current research still faces challenges regarding data accuracy,model adaptability,and intelligence level.Consequently,this paper suggests future research directions to address these limitations,ultimately aiming to better serve the studies of global carbon cycle and climate change.关键词
