摘要

Abstract

The sex phenotype of flowering plants is characterized by diversity and plasticity,including hermaphroditism,monoecy,gynomonoecy,andromonoecy,dioecy,gynodioecy,and androdioecy,all of which have evolved from hermaphroditic ancestors.The mechanisms underlying sex determination in flowering plants are highly complex and varied,such as two-factor model,single-factor model,X∶A model and epigenetic regulation.Artificial domestication can alter plant sexual phenotypes,and some species even display sex-changing capabilities.Sex differentiation process in plants is highly susceptible to external environmental factors.For some individual plants,sex may undergo dynamic transition across different stages of their life cycle,demonstrating a remarkable degree of sexual plasticity.This paper presents the latest research advances on sex determination in flowering plants and discusses the theoretical mechanism underlying the generation of diverse sexual phenotypes from both genetic and evolutionary perspectives.
