Experience of Chinese medicine master PAN Minqiu in treating liver cirrhosis:Pathogenesis and therapeutic approaches of the compensated and decompensate stages from the perspective of"constraint,toxicity and deficiency"

Abstract
Liver cirrhosis is a common chronic liver disease in clinical practice,typically progressing through two stages:the compensated stage and the decompensate stage.Master of traditional Chinese medicine,Professor PAN Minqiu,proposed that the entire course of liver cirrhosis is characterized by three key pathological factors:"constraint"(Yu),"toxicity"(Du)and"deficiency"(Xu).According to his theory,the compensated stage is primarily marked by liver qi stagnation and damp-heat with blood stasis and toxins,while the decompensate stage is fundamentally due to spleen and kidney deficiency.Based on this understanding,Professor PAN developed a staged and syndrome-differentiated treatment approach:focusing on soothing liver qi and clearing toxins during the compensated stage,and emphasizing strengthening the body's vital energy and tonifying deficiency during the decompensate stage.This treatment system has demonstrated significant efficacy and offers a systematic and practical approach for the traditional Chinese medicine treatment of liver cirrhosis.关键词
