Deep structural characteristics of the Red River Fault based on gravity-focused inversion

Abstract
To effectively investigate the deep structural characteristics of the Red River Fault Zone,this study employs the L0-norm gravity focusing inversion method,obtaining a three-dimensional density structure of the deep crust and upper mantle beneath the fault zone.The density model reveals a prominent northwest-southeast(NW-SE)trending low-density gradient belt beneath the Red River Fault,approximately 80 km wide and extending to the top of the upper mantle,indicating the migration of mantle-derived melts along the fault zone.Furthermore,the three-dimensional density structure demonstrates distinct differences in density patterns between the northern and southern segments of the Red River Fault.However,in the central segment,negative density anomalies clearly cross the fault and extend into the South China Block,suggesting that mantle-derived melts have intruded into the South China Block through the fault zone.These results imply that the Red River Fault,as a lithospheric-scale deep fault,is closely linked to deep-seated magmatic activity under the influence of the Indian Plate subduction.This finding provides critical insights into crust-mantle material interactions beneath the fault and the evolution of regional mineral deposits.关键词
