The Effects of Progesterone on Early Embryo and Developmental Environment in Dairy Cows

Abstract
Early embryonic death is a primary cause contributing to reduced efficiency in artificial insemination for dairy cows.Progesterone(P4)plays a crucial role in early embryonic development,as well as in the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy in dairy cattle,by influencing oocyte quality and regulating the environment of the oviduct and uterus.This paper summarises the effects of P4 on early embryos and their developmental environment,and evaluates strategies for early-stage progesterone supplementation,with the aim of providing guidance for enhancing reproductive efficiency in dairy cows.关键词
