Interaction Mechanism of Salmonella with Host Cells:From Gastric Acid Tolerance to Intestinal Epithelial Cell Colonization

Abstract
Salmonella is an important zoonotic enteric pathogen whose pathogenic mechanism relies on overcoming multiple defence barriers of host cells.In recent years,significant progress has been made in the study of the interaction mechanisms between Salmonella and host cells,especially in the key steps,important molecules,and regulatory networks involved in Salmonella's invasion of host cells.The authors systematically elucidate the process by which Salmonella overcomes physicochemical barriers,invades host cells,and ultimately remodels the intracellular microenvironment.It focuses on how Salmonella delivers multiple effector proteins through its typeⅢ secretion system,synergistically targeting host cells and thereby mediating key aspects such as host cytoskeleton remodelling,membrane transport manipulation,and lipid metabolism reprogramming.Understanding the interaction mechanisms of Salmonella's invasion of host cells provides crucial theoretical support for overcoming the limitations of traditional antibacterial strategies and developing novel anti-infection regimens that target host-pathogen interactions.关键词
